The FONDA project aims to establish a network of excellence targeting policy support, research and innovation on reactive nitrogen deposition at regional and national scales allowing the enhancement of UAVR research and innovation performance as well as leverage RIS3 strategies at National and Regional level. The work plan designed for the 36-month project is structured/organized into a six work-packages (WP) with strong interdependencies, as outlined in the diagram.

A first WP (WP2) is designed to outline the scientific strategy for stepping up and stimulating scientific excellence and innovation capacity of UAVR in the area of nitrogen pollution research as well as improving the scientific quality of the other leading partners. WP3, 4 and 5 detail how this research strategy and planning will be implemented and executed, namely through scientific missions (WP3), training (WP4) and exploitation (and business case) activities (WP5). Dissemination and communication activities (WP6) will be a cross-cutting issue in order to ensure and maximize the visibility of FONDA activities and guarantee its sustainability in future. In terms of Coordination and Management (WP1), UAVR will be the project coordinator and a Scientific Committee, built with one representative from each partner, will be responsible for the more technical and scientific issues.
